PUTRAJAYA, May 29 (Sin Chew Daily) – Record 9,020 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including five imported cases.

Selangor reported 2,836 new cases, followed by Kelantan (907), Negeri Sembilan (898), Kuala Lumpur (789), Sarawak (726), Johor (468), Kedah (468), Penang (345), Melaka (340), Perak (272), Sabah (265), Labuan (253), Pahang (216) and Terengganu (189).

To date there are a cumulative total of 558,534 confirmed cases and 479,666 recoveries (including 5,527 discharged today) at 85.88% recovery rate.

A record 98 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 2,650.

There are currently 76,218 active cases, including 844 at ICUs, 430 requiring ventilators.
