PUTRAJAYA, May 27 (Sin Chew Daily) – Record 7,857 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including eight imported cases.

Selangor reported 2,675 new cases, followed by Sarawak (772), Kelantan (754), Kuala Lumpur (561), Johor (549), Kedah (441), Penang (365), Negeri Sembilan (353), Terengganu (282), Pahang (238), Melaka (234), Perak (228), Sabah (217) and Labuan (170).

To date there are a cumulative total of 541,224 confirmed cases and 469,325 recoveries (including 4,598 discharged today) at 86.72% recovery rate.

59 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 2,491.

There are currently 69,408 active cases, including 771 at ICUs, 392 requiring ventilators.
