Over 75 cases reported from at least 40 Klang Valley schools

PETALING JAYA, Apr 16 (Sin Chew Daily) – More than 75 new COVID-19 cases have so far been reported from at least 40 Klang Valley schools since the reopening of primary and secondary schools last month.

Other than the students, teachers, headmasters and school staff have also been infected with the dreadful virus.

SJK(C) Puay Chai 2 in Bandar Utama and SJK(C) Pin Hwa 1 in Setia Alam have reported six cases each. Classes have since been suspended at both schools.

Meanwhile, Hin Hua High School in Klang has also converted classes to home learning, considering the high density of school population.

From what we understand, most of the students diagnosed with COVID-19 have been infected outside of school or by their families, but because of this all their schoolmates, along with teachers, those taking the same school buses or attending the same tuition classes, have all been put on home quarantine and screened.

The number of positive cases reported at schools has shown a marked uptrend since last Friday (April 9).
