Traffic cop helps clear rubbish in the middle of busy road

MELAKA, Apr 7 (Sin Chew Daily) – While he was on duty, a traffic policeman in his 30s found a big pile of rubbish in the middle of a busy thoroughfare in town, and decided to stop his motorcycle by the roadside and made several trips to the middle of the road to remove the rubbish which could pose a threat to road users.

The good deed of the traffic policeman was recorded by Bacang Charity and the video was subsequently posted on the social media, attracting tremendous response from web users.

At about 11.00a.m. Sunday morning, a traffic policeman passed by the busy AMJ Highway in his motorcycle near the traffic light junction in front of Melaka Sentral. He saw a big pile of rubbish in the middle of the road, and decided to stop his motorcycle and made several trips to the middle of the road to remove the rubbish.

Bacang Charity secretary Chen Zhong Han, who was with his team distributing free lunch boxes to nearby shophouses, saw the incident and used his phone to record it and posted it on Facebook.

When contacted by Sin Chew Daily, the head of Bacang Charity's Care Team Su Nan Fu said AMJ Highway is a very busy road with heavy traffic most time of the day. He said the team was touched by the act of the traffic policeman fearlessly walking to the middle of the road a few times to clear the rubbish.

The Care Team later handed a pack of halal fried meehoon, fruit and packet drink to the traffic cop to show their appreciation for his benevolent act.

The traffic policeman told them he was concerned about the safety of road users, in particular motorcyclists, and decided to remove the rubbish in the middle of the road.
