KUALA LUMPUR, Apr 7 (Sin Chew Daily) – Sabah Umno chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said the telephone recording of a conversation between Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim widely circulated on the social media had been faked by people and was not real.

He told Sin Chew Daily he had sought clarification from Ahmad Zahid and had been advised "not to listen to lies".

"I trust the president. He won't break his promise.

"Technology now is so advanced that voice recording can be faked easily and may not necessarily be real."

He said Ahmad Zahid had said in the recent Umno general assembly that the party would not work with PKR, DAP and PPBM in the 15th general elections.

He also said the party had yet to fix a date for the supreme council meeting.
