PUTRAJAYA, Feb 25 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 1,924 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including six imported cases.

This is the first time the daily new infection number has come below 2,000 in 51 days.

Selangor reported 666 new cases, followed by Johor (257), Sarawak (219), Kuala Lumpur (218), Penang (162) and Perak (120).

To date there are a cumulative total of 293,698 confirmed cases and 263,761 recoveries (including 3,752 discharged today) at 89.81% recovery rate.

12 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 1,100.

There are currently 28,837 active cases, including 205 at ICUs, 91 requiring ventilators.
