PUTRAJAYA, Feb 16 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 2,720 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, all locally transmitted.

Selangor reported 1,300 new cases, followed by Johor (451), Kuala Lumpur (318), Sarawak (193) and Sabah (132).

To date there are a cumulative total of 269,165 confirmed cases and 224,053 recoveries (including 5,718 discharged today) at 83.2% recovery rate.

Eight new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 983.

There are currently 44,129 active cases, including 253 at ICUs, 118 requiring ventilators.
