PUTRAJAYA, Feb 8 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 3,100 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including one imported case.

Selangor reported 1,196 new cases, followed by Johor (490), Melaka (344), Kuala Lumpur (295), Penang (209), Sabah (169) and Negeri Sembilan (104).

To date there are a cumulative total of 245,552 confirmed cases and 192,679 recoveries (including 2,340 discharged today) at 78.5% recovery rate.

A record 24 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 896.

There are currently 51,977 active cases, including 282 at ICUs, 134 requiring ventilators.
