KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 (Sin Chew Daily) – According to the revised standard operating procedures for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration, Malaysians can now enjoy reunion dinners with not more than 15 members of their families staying within a radius of 10km from them.
However, can an entire family of four travel in the same car to grandma's house for reunion dinner?
"No," an officer at the national security council (MKN) hotline told Sin Chew Daily, "Only two people are allowed inside a vehicle, including children."
As people can now visit the temples on certain days during the festive season, can they travel to one that is more than 10km away.
Again, the answer is "no."
"Under the existing SOPs, people are not allowed to travel out of their own districts and states and can only travel to places of worship within a radius of 10km from their houses."
He also encouraged the public to make the best of communication software to send their CNY greetings to friends and relatives instead of making personal visits to their homes.
