KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 (Sin Chew Daily) – According to a source, the standard operating procedures announced by senior minister (security cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob yesterday on the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration were published before any cabinet discussion, causing controversies and confusion.
The source told Sin Chew Daily the national security council had been instructed to review the SOPs and publish a revised version later.
According to the source, several cabinet ministers including transport minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong and some Malay ministers had voiced their displeasure over the SOPs unveiled yesterday, adding that the SOPs could not make it to the Wednesday's cabinet meeting and the ministers had not been informed of them earlier.
As it will be too late to bring this matter to next Wednesday's meeting, the national security council decided to announce the SOPs as scheduled yesterday.
"The MKN will review the SOPs," the source said.
