MHA hopes govt will allow hair salons to reopen

PETALING JAYA, Feb 4 (Sin Chew Daily) — Malaysian Hairdressing Association (MHA) president Michael Poh said the domestic trade and industry ministry had contacted the association last night for the latest data on the impact of the coronavirus on the hairdressing industry.

He hoped the government would consider allowing hair salons to reopen for business when the extended MCO goes into effect from tomorrow.

"This is the third time we provide them the figures. We hope the government will understand our predicament and allow hair salons to reopen."

He said the livelihoods of some 74,500 hairdressers in the country had been badly affected since the MCO was implemented from January 13.
