KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 27 (Sin Chew Daily) — To have a closer and more in-depth ties with the business community in South Korea, the Associated Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Malaysia (ACCCIM) delegation had a virtual dialogue with its counterpart from South Korea on Tuesday.
ACCCIM president Tan Sri Datuk Ter Leong Yap, ACCCIM council members and committee members of its youth wing exchanged views with their counterparts from the Korea Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Song Guo Ping, vice presidents Zhao Lian De, Wang Xiu De, committee member Zhao Xiu Yun and Korea Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KBCCCI) president Beom Dae Bok.
During the dialogue, both presented the latest updates on COVID-19 pandemic in their respective countries and preventive measures taken against the pandemic.
ACCCIM also presented its latest progress on the 16th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention and the 100th year celebration of ACCCIM to be held this year.
Both parties discussed the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) to mobilize collaboration and expand trade collaboration between the two countries.
The South Korean representatives said the government of South Korea invite ACCCIM to visit the country to explore economic and trade collaboration especially on the automobile sector and projects which are open to both countries.
ACCCIM responded in a positive manner by saying both Malaysia and South Korea would be able to complement each other through closer collaboration.
ACCCIM is keen to assist South Korean companies keen to invest in Malaysia and Malaysian companies to venture overseas in a win-win situation.
This is the first virtual session of ACCCIM with an oversea organization.
