PUTRAJAYA, Jan 21 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 3,170 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including eight imported cases.

Kuala Lumpur reported 576 new cases, followed by Selangor (545), Johor (423), Sabah (401), Perak (245), Penang (171), Kedah (156), Kelantan (135), Sarawak (132), Melaka (106) and Negeri Sembilan (102).

To date there are a cumulative total of 172,549 confirmed cases and 130,152 recoveries (including 2,490 discharged today) at 75.4% recovery rate.

12 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 642.

There are currently 41,755 active cases, including 260 at ICUs, 103 requiring ventilators.
