PUTRAJAYA, Jan 14 (Sin Chew Daily) – A record 3,337 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including seven imported cases.

Selangor reported the highest number of new cases at 1,036, followed by Johor (460), Sabah (389), Kuala Lumpur (257), Penang (234), Sarawak (180), Negeri Sembilan (169) and Pahang (113). Only Labuan, Putrajaya and Perlis reported fewer than 80 cases each.

To date there are a cumulative total of 147,855 confirmed cases and 113,288 recoveries (including 1,710 discharged today) at 76.6% recovery rate.

15 new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 578.

There are currently 33,989 active cases, including 195 at ICUs, 86 requiring ventilators.
