PUTRAJAYA, Jan 12 (Sin Chew Daily) – A record 3,309 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including six imported cases.

Selangor reported the highest number of new cases at 1,007, followed by Johor (442), Sabah (409), Kuala Lumpur (326), Penang (317), Perak (241) and Sarawak (146).

To date there are a cumulative total of 141,533 confirmed cases and 110,584 recoveries (including 1,469 discharged today) at 78.1% recovery rate.

Four new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 559.

There are currently 30,390 active cases, including 190 at ICUs, 83 requiring ventilators.
