PUTRAJAYA, Jan 5 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 2,027 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including 16 imported cases.

Selangor reported the highest number of new cases at 509, followed by Johor (428), Sabah (383) and Kuala Lumpur (313).

To date there are a cumulative total of 122,845 confirmed cases and 99,449 recoveries (including 1,221 discharged today) at 81.0% recovery rate.

Eight new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 509.

There are currently 22,887 active cases, including 123 at ICUs, 52 requiring ventilators.
