IPOH, Jan 5 (Sin Chew Daily) – Perak DAP leadership confirms that the party's state assemblyman for Malim Nawar Leong Cheok Keng and assemblyman for Pokok Assam Leow Thye Yih, who have been said will quit the party to join MCA, have still not tendered any resignation letter and have not talked to the party leadership on their intent to leave the party.

In other words, both Leong and Leow are still DAP's members at this moment.

A reliable source said one of DAP's state assemblymen in Perak would quit the party to join MCA. Subsequently, Leong found himself bombarded by questions from the party's grassroots leaders and members, forcing him to leave some of DAP's WhatsApp chat groups, keeping only the WhatsApp group of PH state assemblymen.

Both Leong and Leow were present at the party's closed door meeting on Perak's political situation chaired by secretary-general Lim Guan Eng in Ipoh in mid-December.

However, no state party leaders have contacted the two men since the adjournment of the Perak state assembly on December 18.

Meanwhile, Leow has clarified and refuted the rumors that he would quit the party to join MCA.

As for Leong, he replied to a WhatsApp question from Sin Chew Daily that it is not convenient for him to respond to the question for thte time being.
