PUTRAJAYA, Jan 1 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 2,068 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including two imported cases.

Selangor reported the highest number of new cases at 776, followed by Kuala Lumpur (457), Sabah (254), Penang (226)  and Johor (112).

To date there are a cumulative total of 115,078 confirmed cases and 91,171 recoveries (including 2,230 discharged today) at 79.2% recovery rate.

Three new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 474.

There are currently 23,433 active cases, including 126 at ICUs, 54 requiring ventilators.
