PUTRAJAYA, Dec 31 (Sin Chew Daily) – A record of 2,525 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including 13 imported cases.

Selangor reported the highest number of new cases at 1,205, followed by Sabah (299), Melaka (239), Kuala Lumpur (222) and Johor (194).

To date there are a cumulative total of 113,010 confirmed cases and 88,941 recoveries (including 1,481 discharged today) at 78.7% recovery rate.

Eight new deaths were reported today, taking the toll to 471.

There are currently 23,598 active cases, including 131 at ICUs, 60 requiring ventilators.
