Chinese associations welcome arrival of new Chinese envoy

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 (Sin Chew Daily) — The Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) welcomes the arrival of new ambassador from China Ouyang Yujing to Malaysia.

The federation said it believed Ouyang's vast experience would help further enhance bilateral ties between Malaysia and China as the two countries embark on a new milestone.

Goh Tian Chuan, president of the federation, said China plays an active role of leading the world in stabilizing the COVID-19 pandemic and reviving the economy.

China will also be the catalyst in boosting economic growth in Asean countries, including Malaysia, in post COVID-19 era.

In a statement, Goh said Ouyang had visited Malaysia before and he would be able to boost further ties and growth in various areas between Malaysia and China.

The federation will continue to support and collaborate with Ouyang and the Embassy of China being a good neighbor, friend and partner.

Goh also wished Bai Tian, the former Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, all the best and thanked his contributions in developing Malaysia-China trade in all sectors during the past three years.

Meanwhile, the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce also believes Ouyang's experience in diplomatic field would enrich the cordial ties between Malaysia and China with further collaboration in various sectors on a win-win situation.

In a statement, the Chamber said it was looking forward to more collaboration between Malaysia and China in the future, especially in view of the fact that both countries had supported each other during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The Chamber will work with the new ambassador to promote bilateral trade between Malaysia and China and also explore opportunities for collaboration under the new normal to push for economic recovery."

Koo Yuen Kim, executive president of the China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification in Malaysia and lead advisor of the Malaysia One Belt One Road Committee, said under the leadership of the new ambassador, Malaysia and China would continue to work closely to handle challenges for an everlasting friendship between Malaysia and China.

The China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification in Malaysia, the Malaysia One Belt One Road Committee, Malaysia-China have Culture & Arts Association and Malaysia-China Public Relations Association jointly issued statements that their organizations are looking forward to new ambassador leading the Embassy of China in Malaysia to further enhance friendship and bilateral collaboration between the two countries, so that the ties of both countries will scale new heights in a win-win situation.

In the meantime, the youth wings of eight major Chinese associations in the country also look forward to the new ambassador creating a new scenario in the developments of collaboration between the two countries.

Lee Seang Hock, head of the youth wing representing eight major Chinese associations and the president of Malaysian Young Graduates Association, said both countries insist on defending multilateralism and actively promoting trade links in the region.

He believes the new ambassador will push for closer and wider collaboration in trade for more small- and medium-sized enterprises and people to enjoy a better economy.
