Explore business opportunities of China: trade commissioner

Nanning, China, Dec 2 (Sin Chew Daily) — Malaysian Trade Commissioner Zaimah Osman is optimistic about value-added food products from Malaysia making inroads into Chinese markets.

The Malaysian Trade Commissioner under Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) based in China said many are looking forward to the 17th China-Asean Expo to achieve breakthrough, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zaimah said she was looking forward to seeing Malaysian companies enhance the food production sector and promote their products in Nanning. the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

She said at the opening of the 17th China-Asean Expo and China-Asean Business & Investment Summit in Nanning that she was optimistic about the prospects of Malaysian food products in China.

MATRADE will continue to promote trade collaboration between Malaysia and other countries, said Zaimah.

The signing of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) by ten Asean countries with China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand shows that each country is keen to resume trade cooperation to create more business opportunities, she added. 

The China-Asean Expo will feature products from 15 countries involved in the One Belt One Road Initiative, including Pakistan, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Sri Lanka and India.
