Following Noh Omar’s footsteps, Ahmad Maslan quits PAC

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 (Sin Chew Daily) – Following the footsteps of Umno's Tanjung Karang Member of Parliament Tan Sri Noh Omar, Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan is also quitting the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

From the information made available to Sin Chew Daily, the Pontian MP has decided to quit PAC a week after he was appointed as the committee's member.

From what we understand, Ahmad Maslan has quit the committee post upon instruction from the party.

A PAC member has confirmed with Sin Chew Daily that Ahmad Maslan has quit the committee.

It is understood that the parliamentary select committee chaired by Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun will appoint two new PAC members in today's meeting.

Noh Omar earlier announced through Facebook that he would quit as PAC member after being appointed to the post.

He said as Umno's Selangor liaison committee chairman, he needed to focus on party affairs.
