PUTRAJAYA, Oct 12 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 563 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including one imported case.

Sabah reported the biggest number of cases at 291, followed by Penang (141 from remand prison cluster), Selangor (69) and Kuala Lumpur (28).

To date there are a cumulative total of 16,220 confirmed cases and 11,022 recoveries (including 109 discharged today) at 67.95% recovery rate.

Two new deaths have been reported, taking the toll to 159.

There are currently 5,039 active cases, including 98 at ICUs, 29 requiring ventilators.
