PETALING JAYA, Aug 27 (Sin Chew Daily) – Due to some unforeseen circumstances, plantation industries and commodities minister Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali was not able to have his police statement taken last night.

Bukit Aman CID deputy director (Investigation and Legal) DCP Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid confirmed with Sin Chew Daily that the police were unable to take the statement of the minister last night and had to postpone it to today at Bukit Aman police headquarters.

However, he declined to reveal why the police failed to take the statement of Mohd Khairuddin. He also refused to say when Mohd Khairuddin would appear at the police headquarters today.

The minister was supposed to have his police statement taken at Bukit Aman police headquarters yesterday afternoon, but he did not turn up and had requested to change the time and location.

Mohd Khairuddin was having an audience with Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka Tun Mohd Ali Rustam at 11:00 and they met for over an hour.

When asked whether he would proceed to the police headquarters after leaving the Yang di-Pertua Negeri's office, he said, "Kemudian" (later).

At 15:00, he requested to postpone the questioning to today. However, Mior Faridalathrash told Sin Chew Daily the police went to the Parliament House several hours later to take the statement of Mohd Khairuddin at the latter's request.

27 police reports have so far been lodged against the minister for not observing the quarantine order upon his return from Turkey on November 7.
