PUTRAJAYA, Aug 19 (Sin Chew Daily) – A total of 16 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country as of noon today, including four imported cases.

Of the 12 locally transmitted cases, seven were from Tawar (4) and Sala (3) clusters in Kedah, four from Tawar cluster in Penang. and another in Johor.

To date there are a cumulative total of 9,235 confirmed cases and 8,925 recoveries (including 23 discharged today) at 96.64% recovery rate.

No new death has been reported.

There are currently 185 active cases, including seven at ICUs, three requiring ventilators.
