KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 (Sin Chew Daily) – PKR's Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar and DAP's Ipoh Timor MP Wong Kah Woh are likely candidates for the new Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman.
A source told Sin Chew Daily as the PAC will be headed by an opposition MP, the committee's chairman should be from an opposition party.
The source said initially Pakatan Harapan had planned to submit the name of the PAC chairman candidate when the parliamentary sitting resumes next Monday, but will now do it only in July.
The source also said PH is now considering either Nurul Izzah or Wong Kah Woh. Nevertheless, it is believed that the latter has a bigger chance as he has been PAC vice chairman before.
"As for Nurul, she has been a PAC member but considering her father (PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) will be the Opposition Leader, it is not so likely for her to be selected as PAC chairman."
