PUTRAJAYA, May 8 (Sin Chew Daily) – Director-general of health Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced 68 new COVID-19 cases in the country as of noon today, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 6,535.

Of the new cases reported today, four have been imported while the rest are locally transmitted.

Meanwhile, 88 cases were discharged today, with the cumulative total recoveries at 4,864.

18 cases are being treated at ICUs, seven requiring ventilators.

No new death has been reported.
