Petaling Jaya, May 6 (Sin Chew Daily) – It is learned that members and leaders sacked by PKR may form a new party in preparation for the next general elections.
A PKR leader who prefers to remain anonymous told Sin Chew Daily the party is purging some 1,000 members and leaders who are supporting former deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and former vice president Zuraida Kamaruddin
The source said party members had been warned to distance themselves from any organization or position linked to Azmin and Zuraida, including Pemuda Negara and Penggerak Komuniti Negara.
Vice president Tian Chua, who has received a show-cause letter from the party, said the house-cleaning move would not only exacerbate the existing split within the party but would also jeopardize Pakatan Harapan unity.
"If they are not allowed to stay, they may form a new party or join an existing one such as Gerakan Rakyat or Parti Sosialis Malaysia."
Meanwhile, PKR disciplinary committee vice chairman Tan Kee Kwong confirmed with Sin Chew Daily that he had resigned from the committee post last Saturday.
However, he declined to elaborate why he had done so.
