​Foreign workers registered with Socso gets free COVID-19 tests

Petaling Jaya, May 5 (Sin Chew Daily) – Any foreign worker insured under the Socso (Social Security Organization) scheme will be entitled to free swab tests for COVID-19.

Socso chief executive Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman confirmed with Sin Chew Daily that Socso's Prihatin Screening Program (PSP) implemented under phase 3 of movement control order (MCO) remains valid and employers can make arrangements for their foreign workers to undergo swab tests at Socso's panel clinics or labs for free.

"Yes, under the Employees' Social Security Act 1969, registered members are entitled to Socso's PSP scheme."

He reiterated that only employers and employees registered with Socso would be entitled to this benefit. Non members such as illegal foreign workers will not get free tests.

Employers only need to visit Socso' website to register and key in the foreign worker's social security number (KSPA) in order to enjoy the benefit.
