Putrajaya, Apr 24 (Sin Chew Daily) – Director-general of health Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced 88 new COVID-19 cases in the country as of noon Friday, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 5,691.

This is the eighth consecutive day the country has reported only a double-digit growth in the number of new positive cases.

There are to date a cumulative total of 3,663 recoveries (including 121 discharged today) at a recovery rate of 64.4%, with 96 deaths (one today).

41 cases are being treated at ICUs, 18 requiring ventilators.
