PUTRAJAYA, Mar 27 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today announced a more comprehensive people-centric economic stimulus package totalling RM250 billion to help the people in facing COVID-19 pandemic, including the RM20 billion package announced earlier.

The announcement of the stimulus package was made live on national television.

Of the total, almost RM128 billion would be channelled to protect the people's well-being, RM100 billion to support the business community, including small and media enterprises (SME) and RM2 billion to further strengthen the country's economy.

The amount includes also a fiscal injection of RM22 billion, government guarantees totalling RM55 billion and other initiatives involving more than RM153 billion.
