
KOTA KINABALU, Mar 12 (Sin Chew Daily) — Sabah health department director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi confirmed with Sin Chew Daily today that health departments in the state had initiated the operation to track down over 1,000 people who attended the massive tabligh event at Masjid Seri Petaling in Kuala Lumpur from February 27 to March 1.
She said many participants were contacted yesterday, while many others had turned up on their own accord for COVID-19 testing.
She nevertheless declined to comment on the rumor of confirmed cases among the 350 tabligh participants from Tawau.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced yesterday that the country's 131st confirmed coronavirus case had attended the tabligh event in Kuala Lumpur.
