MELAKA, Mar 2 (Sin Chew Daily) — Umno Melaka state liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Rauf Yusoh announced in a press conference this afternoon that the new coalition would form the state government with the support of 17 state assemblymen.

In addition to 13 Umno state assemblymen, four others who have joined the new coalition are two PPBM state executive councilors Datuk Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen (Paya Rumput), Datuk Noor Effandi Ahmad (Telok Mas), DAP's executive councilor Datuk Norhizam Hassan Baktee (Pengkalan Batu) and PKR's executive councilor Muhammad Jailani Khamis (Rembia).

The new coalition now has 17 seats in Melaka while Pakatan Harapan is left with only 11 seats.
