IPOH, Feb 4 (Sin Chew Daily) — A 47-year-old trading company manager from Ipoh is touched by the Malaysian authorities' sincerity in getting him back to the country again although he has to be quarantined for 14 days having just returned on a chartered flight from the Chinese city of Wuhan.
Loh Ling Ta, who arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport with his Chinese wife early this morning, told Sin Chew Daily in a telephone interview that he felt very happy being able to come back to Malaysia again.
"As I know, majority of the passengers on the aircraft have passed the quarantine inspection. We were actually shocked by the smooth procedures and the warm reception at the airport.
"Every detail and the disinfection were superbly done, with police, fire & rescue and medical personnel stationed there offering very good care and service to us."
He said there were about a thousand people at the quarantine center taking care of the hundred odd Malaysians and foreigners returning from Wuhan, adding that he was impressed that Malaysia actually did a very good job fighting the war against 2019 novel coronavirus.
Loh and his wife traveled to China on January 21 for the Lunar New Year holidays, just shortly before the Wuhan lockdown was imposed on January 23.
"By January 30, many Malaysians had contacted the Malaysian embassy in Beijing with the hope the authorities would help bring them back to Malaysia."
He felt relieved that he and his wife were able to come back to this country safely.
