82 Malaysians in Wuhan uninfected

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 30 (Sin Chew Daily) — Malaysian Ambassador to China Datuk Nushirwan Zainal Abidin said there are currently 82 Malaysian citizens in and around the Chinese city of Wuhan.

He aid during an interview with Bernama that these 82 Malaysians were in good health conditions and were not infected with the 2019 novel coronavirus.

Meanwhile, home minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said in a press conference today that the immigration department sent back 14 tourists from Wuhan arriving at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on February 28, adding that the government had barred the entry of all visitors from the Chinese city in fending off the virus.

There are currently eight confirmed cases of 2019-nCoV in the country. 

The health ministry said in a statement today that the latest case involved a 49-year-old female Chinese national who is the wife of the seventh confirmed case.

So far all the confirmed cases in Malaysia have involved only Chinese nationals.
