Revelers take part in a traditional “Flour War” marking the Clean Monday or Ash Monday in the town of Galaxidi in central Greece.

The annual custom, holding from the 19th century at the end of the carnival season on the Clean Monday, is a national holiday marking the start of the 40-day fasting period leading up to Easter.
