Tajuddin: Not very happy but will still accept

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, the incumbent member of parliament for Pasir Salak, is disappointed that he is not fielded in the 15th general election.

“That’s the party’s decision. I can accept that, but I’m disappointed the division’s decision has been neglected.

“We will nevertheless help in the candidate’s campaign to make sure Umno wins the seat.

“Not very happy, but will still accept. Just like your parents ask you to marry someone you don’t like, but what can you do?

“We are loyal to our parents and I’m loyal to the party.”

Tajuddin told Sin Chew Daily the Umno Pasir Salak division had proposed one name each for the parliamentary and two state seats but only one was eventually adopted, namely Kampung Gajah state assembly constituency candidate Datuk Dr. Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin, who is also the divisional Wanita chairman.

Tajuddin said he was the only parliamentary candidate proposed by the division but was not accepted by the party leadership.

“We can’t defy the party leadership’s decision. We won’t demonstrate, only feel unhappy.”
