Ng Sze Han expected to run in Teratai in next election

PETALING JAYA, Jan 20 (Sin Chew Daily) – Selangor state executive councilor cum Kinrara state assemblyman Ng Sze Han is expected to contest the Teratai state assembly seat in the next election, after the incumbent Lai Wai Chong quit DAP to become an independent.

After the resignation of Lai, Ng has been appointed by the Selangor state government and DAP to be the coordinator for Teratai state constituency in the coming general election, and has started serving the constituency.

A source told Sin Chew Daily the Selangor DAP had already submitted the names of candidates for Ampang Jaya municipal councilors to the state government, to replace the three DAP councilors whose services have been terminated.

The three new candidates — Firdaus, Lee Wen Bin and Yew Jia Haur are expected to be sworn in later this month in the municipal council’s meeting.

DAPSY Selangor public service and complaints bureau chairman Lee Wen Bin has confirmed with Sin Chew Daily that he had received the municipal council’s appointment notice.

An assistant to a former Kajang municipal councilor for six years, Lee said he was very familiar with the duties of a municipal councilor and had faith he could do his new job well.

Meanwhile, Yew Jia Haur was Selayang municipal councilor from 2013 to 2018. Since 2018, he has been the political secretary of Federal Territory DAP public complaints bureau chairman cum Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng, and has plenty of experience handling public complaints and issues related to the residents.

“As a DAP member, I will follow the party’s arrangement whenever I am needed, and am ready to serve the people.”

He said it was an honor to be able to serve the people of Selangor once again.
