PM to be discharged from hospital these two days

KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 (Sin Chew Daily) – Prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is expected to be discharged from hospital within these one or two days.

Rumors on social media that the prime minister is seriously ill and needs another operation are false.

Muhyiddin, admitted in a hospital since June 30, chaired the National Security Council (MKN) meeting earlier today through video conferencing. A picture of him chairing the meeting from hospital with a short statement on the country's COVID-19 situation was published on the Prime Minister's Office's Facebook account.

The PMO announced yesterday that the prime minister was admitted due to digestive system infection and upon examination, there is no sign of pancreatic cancer relapse. He is expected to be discharged in a few days' time.

Muhyiddin suffered from a diarrhea last Tuesday night and was admitted the second morning at the doctor's advice.

The PMO said yesterday that Muhyiddin would continue to receive intravenous antibiotic therapy at hospital at the advice of his medical team.
