Hot, dry weather to last until September - Palanivel

The hot and dry weather, which hit the country since May following the south-west monsoon, is expected to last until September, said Natural Resources and Environment Minister, Datuk Seri G. Palanivel.

Dry weather, cloudless skies hinder cloud seeding

KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) -- Cloud seeding to reduce the haze in the country, particularly around the federal capital, cannot be conducted at present due to the dry weather and cloudless skies.

Meteorological Department (Weather and Climate) deputy director general Alui Bahari said even though the haze was getting worse, cloud seeding could only be conducted if there were suitable clouds to be used.
