  • Wong Yan Ke's lawyer has given UM 24 hours to respond, or face legal action.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 (Sin Chew Daily) -- Former chairman of University of Malaya Association of New Youth (UMANY) Wong Yan Ke was summoned by the police to give his statement today.

He was initially told to go to Brickfields police headquarter but was later told to go to Petaling Jaya district headquarters instead.

He came out from the police station after giving his statement for more than an hour.

Wong later told the media the university authorities informed him this morning he would not receive his scroll.

His lawyer Asheeq Ali has given the university 24 hours to respond or he would consider legal action against the university.

Wong is being investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code for intentional insult to break the public peace.

Accompanying Wong at the police station was fellow graduate Edan Kon Hua En.
