KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 (Sin Chew Daily) -- Bukit Aman Special Branch counter-terrorism division chief Deputy Comm Datuk Ayob Khan said the police would take action if there is evidence Penang deputy chief minister II Ramasamy Palanisamy is involved in LTTE Tamil Tigers terrorist activities.

Ayob Khan said the two state assemblymen arrested yesterday were being remanded for 28 days to assist in police investigation, adding that the AG Chambers would decide whether it has sufficient evidence to charge them in court.

Ayob Khan emphasized that after thorough investigation, the police had sufficient evidence to prove that LTTE was a terrorist organization threatening the security of this country, and had listed it as terrorist organization since 2014.

“Anyone has the right to express his views, but if he is found promoting or supporting a terrorist organization, the police will not hesitate to take action against him.”
