Zakir to give police statement this afternoon

  • Zakir Naik will appear at Bukit Aman at 15:00 to give his statement over a report he earlier lodged against five individuals, including human resources minister M Kulasegaran.

PETALING JAYA, Aug 22 (Sin Chew Daily) -- Zakir Naik has been summoned by the Bukit Aman police headquarters to give his statement this afternoon.

Prior to this, the Indian Muslim preacher had given his police statements on two separate occasions.

Zakir's lawyer Akberdin confirmed that he would appear at 15:00 at Bukit Aman to give his statement over a report he earlier lodged against five individuals, namely human resources minister M Kulasegaran, former ambassador Datuk Dennis J Ignatius, Penang deputy chief minister II Dr P Ramasamy, Bagan Dalam state assemblyman M Satees and Klang MP Charles Santiago.

The police will investigate this case under Section 504 of the Penal Code (Intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace).
