PETALING JAYA, Apr 30 (MySinchew) – The following are some of the highlights of the 14th general elections for the day:

CHIEF SECRETARY TO the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa said the caretaker government had approved additional 65,000 new civil service positions to meet the needs of the 2050 National Transformation Program (TN50).

PM NAJIB TWEETED this morning to remind first-time voters that Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad promised to abolish e-hailing services such as Grab if the opposition were to win the elections.

“Look at what he did to Proton,” he tweeted.

PKR VICE PRESIDENT Tian Chua filed a suit against the Election Commission this morning for disqualifying him in GE14.

PH AYER HITAM candidate Liew Chin Tong accused that a Johor tycoon had dumped several million ringgit to help BN campaign in three key parliamentary constituencies, namely Sembrong, Labis and Ayer Hitam.

He said he was tipped by someone from MCA.

He also said he was not only facing Wee Ka Siong but the entire BN government resources.

PH'S CANDIDATE FOR Kluang Wong Shu Qi hit out at BN for exploiting the independent high school issue but had never made any allocation to these schools.

She said in a ceramah that Johor BN had not institutionalized allocations for independent high schools in the state.

By comparison, she said the Penang state government had since 2009 provided RM18 million for six independent high schools in the state.
