Langkawi airport closed

  • DCA director-general says Langkawi international airport has been closed due to the haze while other airports are still operating as normal.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 (MySinchew) -- Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) director-general Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said Langkawi international airport was closed today due to the haze while other airports are operating as normal.

He said a decision had to be made whether to close an airport when the visibility falls below 500 meters.

Meanwhile in Penang, USM has suspended classes and all outdoor activities due to worsening haze.
